Riga is ready for the “Positivus” festival

“Looking forward to the “Positivus” festival, I wish that in the next few years it will become an integral part of Riga’s summer cultural program and a visiting card of our city outside the borders of Latvia as well,” emphasized Riga City Council Chairman Mārtiņš Staķis.

The organizers revealed that the visitors of the festival will have the opportunity to experience a diverse music and art program, to appreciate and buy original and high-quality designer works at the beauty market, as well as to enjoy delicious food. Several partner activities and stands have also been arranged.

“We are looking forward to the first “Positivus” festival in Riga, for which we can feel satisfied that it is possible to implement it in challenging conditions! I recommend that visitors familiarize themselves with the most convenient routes to get to Lucavsala and wish everyone to experience at least one of the concerts in person!” the organizer of the event, Đirts Majors, said optimistically.

During the festival, the State Police will work in an intensified mode in the territory of Lucavsala, especially monitoring both public order and safety, as well as traffic. Also, attention will be paid to all drivers of vehicles, whether they follow road traffic rules, but additional attention will be paid to drivers of electric scooters, so that they do not drive while under the influence of alcohol.

“We remind the residents and guests that when moving towards Lucavsala, you have to expect possible inconveniences, so you should plan your route in time. The State Police will do everything possible to ensure a continuous flow of traffic, but if there is a very large flow of vehicles near the festival area, the police may, if necessary, make a decision to temporarily close traffic near the festival site,” admitted the Control and Event Manager of the Riga Region Administration of the State Police head of the coordination department Jānis Griķis.

Police officers of the Riga municipality will monitor the order both on land in the vicinity of the festival and in the water. Security will be monitored on the festival coast to prevent any accidents that might happen to an overheated vacationer who might want to swim. “I call on festival visitors not to be reckless and not to leave valuables unattended!” said Andrejs Aronovs, deputy chief of police of the Riga municipality.

The “Positivus” festival will take place in Riga, on the territory of Lucavsala, on July 15 and 16. The full program is available at www.positivusfestival.com.
