On Saturday, January 15, the first competition day of the sixth Junior and Youth World Cup and the 43rd Junior European Championship took place in Bludenza, Austria. The Bludenza ice track is approximately 750 meters long and is primarily intended for training and competitions for young luge, skeleton and bobsleigh athletes.
In the 6th Junior and Youth World Cup, which is also the 43rd European Championship, on the first day of the competition, “Young Women A”, “Young Women A”, “Young Women A” two-seater crews, “Young Women A” two-seater crews, “Junior Women” fought for prizes two-seater crews, “Junior” men’s two-seater crews, as well as women’s competition two-seater crews.
Selina Elizabete Zvilna won the “Jaunietes A” girls’ competition, who convincingly completed both races with the best time. On the other hand, Amanda Gorodnikova won the high fifth place in the European Championship and the sixth stage of the World Cup.

In the “Junior” women’s two-seater crew competition, the gold award was won by Viktorija Ziediņa/Selīna Elizabete Zvilna, who performed both races with the best finish time. Juniors Viktorija Ziedina/Selīna Elizabete Zvilna also won the women’s two-seater crew competition. On the other hand, eighth place goes to Anda Upīte/Sanija Ozoliņa, and 15th place to Marta Robežniece/Kitija Bogdanova.
In the competition of two-seater crews of “Jaunieši A”, the two Latvian crews, Raimonds Baltgalvis/Krišjānis Brūns and Jānis Gruzdulis-Borovojs/Uldis Jakseboga, respectively, placed fifth and sixth.
In the competition of “Junior” two-seater crews, Kaspars Rinks/Vitalijs Yegorovs won the bronze award in the sum of two trips.
During six World Cups, the best athletes in the overall World Cup ranking were also awarded. Viktorija Ziediņa/Selīna Elizabete Zvilna took third place in the world cup overall in the “junior” women’s two-seater crew competition with 430 points.
Kaspars Rinks/Vitalijs Yegorovs took third place in the “Junior” men’s two-seater crew competition with 371 points. On the other hand, the seventh place with 270 points won by Eduard Ševic-Mikeļševic/Lūkas Krastas.
Selina Elizabete Zvilna and Austrian Dorothea Schwarz shared the second place in the “Jaunietes A” competition with 410 points. On the other hand, Agnija Bogdanova is in seventh place with 214 points.
Raimonds Baltgalvis/Krišjānis Brūnas took fifth place with 297 points in the two-seater crew competition of “Jaunieši A”.
Marta Robežniece/Kitija Bogdanova second place in the two-seater crew ranking of “Jaunietes A” with 450 points won.
In the “junior” men’s competition, just behind the podium, in fourth place with 236 points – Kaspars Rinks.
On Sunday, January 16, the competition will continue with the “Junior” men’s and “Junior” women’s competitions, as well as the team relay.
