Food Union has created six “Pols” and three “Jungle Pop” novelties for the 2023 ice cream season

LATVIA – Did you know that the first harbingers of summer are ice creams with new flavors, which are already filling store freezers? As every year, the leading milk processing company in Latvia “Food Union” has carefully prepared for this summer season, creating a brand new, amazingly tasty ice cream collection. Its range includes nine novelties of the ice cream brands “Pols” and “Jungle Pop”, which are very popular with consumers, and more than 85 thousand euros were invested in their creation and launch on the market.

The “hottest” ice cream fashion trends
“So that every sweet tooth – big or small – could find their new favorite ice cream or even several this summer, we took into account the “hottest” ice cream trends of the moment during the development process. Ice cream recipes with nostalgic and heart-warming flavors of childhood treats, such as marmalade and waffles, are particularly relevant at the moment. Dairy-free, including juice ice creams, have already become a stable niche. Unusually shaped ice creams are back in fashion again – with an expressive glazed cap or wrapped around a stick. Finally, nature-friendly packaging, along with the highest quality ingredients, has become an integral element that gives ice cream brands additional value,” says Ieva Lejniece, Food Union’s marketing manager and board member in Latvia.

Classic fruits, expressive glazes and sustainable packaging
A summer walk, a trip to the beach or lounging by the fountain in the park – all of this will be more vividly remembered when you eat one of the three novelties of the most legendary ice cream brand “Pols” in Latvia. Two new “Poli” (100 g) – “Banana and chocolate” and “Crunchy strawberry” – in a large waffle and with the pointed cap characteristic only of this cream ice cream in a crispy chocolate glaze, have been created for the pleasure of big feasters. “Pols” on a stick is also a surprise for the stick lovers – specially created for this summer strawberry-flavored cream ice cream in bright red strawberry glaze (70 g).

Importantly, the above-mentioned “Pols” brand ice creams are packaged in sustainable packages, which contain 50% organic materials. Therefore, by choosing these products in stores, consumers help to reduce the amount of plastic waste in nature and the carbon emissions caused by its production.

A polar bear greeting for families
You can never have too much “Pols” ice cream, that’s why the range of this always relevant brand has been supplemented with a new, family-sized format – cream ice cream in an 800 ml package, which is convenient to keep in the freezer of the refrigerator and eat with a spoon. It is available with three contemporary dessert flavors – “Pols jelly candy” is cream ice cream with blackcurrant sauce, marmalade flavor and jelly candies, “Pols waffle crisps” – creamy vanilla ice cream with nougat sauce and crunchy chocolate balls, and finally “Pols crunchy chocolate” – cream biscuit flavored ice cream with milk chocolate flavored filling and wafer pieces in milk chocolate.

These ice creams of the “Pols” brand are also packaged in sustainable packages, which are not only separable, but also 100% recyclable. At the same time, these plastic boxes can be reused, thus reducing the ecological footprint in the environment.

Jungle flavors on a stick
Tropical ice cream brand Jungle Pop has three new products on a stick. Fans of vegan nutrition will appreciate the refreshing ice cream with apple lemonade flavor (60 ml). In addition, for the first time, the “Jungle Pop” offer also includes two double-flavored milk ice creams – the first one has greenish pineapple and yellow banana-flavored cream ice cream intertwined, and the second one has pink watermelon and soft yellow melon-flavored cream ice cream wrapped around a stick (80 ml).

All new ice cream recipes have been created by domestic ice cream masters at the Food Union Ice Cream Competence Center in Riga, with the primary aim of offering them for consumption in Latvia. However, some of the new “Pols” and “Jungle Pop” ice creams will soon be exported to Lithuania, Romania, Great Britain, Uzbekistan, Ireland, Iraq and Poland.

The sale of the new ice creams has already started in the “Food Union” online store www.pienaveikals.lv, as well as in the largest store chains and smaller backyard shops throughout Latvia. During May, new products will fill even more the stores that are popular with Latvian buyers.
