Latvian content creator Niklāvs Kravalis is starting a new charity project “Celebrity has a heart”. As part of the project, the content creator will go to animal shelters with one of the celebrities to draw public attention.
The action was recently joined by representatives of the Latvian Basketball Association, as well as men’s national team players Dāvis Bertāns, Jānis Strēlnieks, Rodions Kurucs and women’s national team players Vanesa Jasa, Kate Vilka and Digna Strautmane, portal balticevents.info informs.
In cooperation with the Latvian Basketball Union, a pallet with delicious food and gifts from each player was taken to the shelter “Meža vairogi” in Ķekava. The four-legged friends were delighted and taken for a walk.
During the walk, Kravalis asked questions and started discussing with the basketball players about the shelters and the animals themselves today.
“You need to find an opportunity to help in any way. Feel free to contact the shelters and ask what any of us can help with. “Unfortunately, at the moment, more pets come into shelters than go out”, said Bertāns.
“I think that there are much nicer dogs from shelters than from the breeders themselves. Here they are kinder and they really thank people for adopting them,” added Rodions Kurucs.
“We remember that before we take an animal, we always consider whether we will really be able to take care of it,” added Jānis Strēlnieks.
As part of the previous charity project, a total of 20 animals were adopted from shelters and a ton of food was taken away. Currently, Kravalis is actively working on the project “Fame has a heart” and will soon go to Latvian shelters.
