Pre-orders for K-Pop boy band ZEROBASEONE’s debut mini album, ‘Youth in the Shade,’ have surpassed an impressive 1 million copies.
South Korean boy band ZEROBASEONE’s first mini-album, “Youth in the Shade,” has officially recorded 1,080,000 copies in pre-orders only 13 days after pre-orders began, according to distributor Genie Music.
The group set another record just days before for the K-Pop debut album with the highest number of pre-orders in history at 780,000, about five days after pre-orders began. The mini-album features six tracks, including the debut single “In Bloom,” and releases on July 10 at 6 PM KST.
Meanwhile, to further hype fans up for their official debut release, ZEROBASEONE has released individual concept images — each member’s face in a glamour shot to accompany the mini-album’s release in a “digipack” teaser.
Since the announcement of their formation, the group has quickly become a force to reckon with in the K-Pop world. ZEROBASEONE first emerged victorious in the fiercely competitive reality show Boys Planet, and it’s only been uphill for the group from there.
In addition to breaking pre-order records in South Korea, the group’s upcoming mini-album is the most pre-ordered debut album by a K-Pop group on Ktown4u, a popular K-Pop album and merch store catering to international fans.
ZEROBASEONE also has garnered an impressive social media presence as a rookie group. Already, they have 1.3 million followers on Instagram, surpassing the previous 2023 rookie group record holder, BABYMONSTER, who had 1.2 million followers.
And they haven’t stopped there. ZEROBASEONE is now the most-followed 2023 rookie group on MelOn, South Korea’s largest online music store and streaming service. With over 10,000 followers, they have overtaken BOYNEXTDOOR, who held the previous record with 4,400 followers.
Across local Korean platforms and the global K-Pop fandom, ZEROBASEONE has received an enormous following, and their upcoming mini-album has amassed a staggering amount of pre-orders in the short time since its announcement, demonstrating the incredible anticipation for the group’s official debut.
