The application for household support for pellets, chip briquettes, firewood purchased for heating needs has ended, by submitting a document confirming payment – 18,911 thousand applications have been received for this type of support, 12,088 thousand of which have been registered on the portal www.epakalpojumi.lv, informs the director of SIA “ZZ Dats” and the portal developer Edžus Žeiris. On the other hand, it will be possible to continue to register for support for the used electricity and diesel or liquefied petroleum gas fuel until May 31.
“For the support of energy resources used in heating, the country has paid out 15.67 million euros to the citizens, and since October 2022, a total of 255 thousand applications have been received from households to support the reduction of the extraordinary increase in the prices of energy resources. The most popular form of support was a one-time support payment of 60 euros for firewood used for heating, if there is no check,” says Edžus Žeiris, director of SIA “ZZ Dats” and developer of www.epakalpojumi.lv.
In order to apply for energy resource support for electricity and diesel or liquefied petroleum gas fuel used for heating, households must fill out an application addressed to the municipality. This can be done remotely on the portal www.epakalpojumi.lv or in person at the municipality where the house is located.
It was assumed that a household needs one ton of liquefied petroleum gas per year on average, therefore the state support is set at 50% of the cost of 1000 kilograms of liquefied petroleum gas at a price exceeding 0.91 euros per kilogram, but no more than 1.29 euros per kilogram without value added tax (VAT).
When applying for support for electricity used for heating, residents should take into account that invoices in which the amount of electricity consumed per month exceeds 500 kWh and the price of electricity without VAT exceeds 0.160 EUR/kWh are compensated. On the other hand, a household that uses diesel fuel for heating can receive state aid in the amount of 50% up to 4,000 liters of labeled diesel fuel at a price exceeding 0.69 euros per liter without VAT, but no more than 2.01 euros per liter without VAT.
Data on support measures for households were collected on May 10, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. for the period from October 1, 2022.
May is the last month when residents can submit applications for compensation for the increase in the price of electricity, diesel fuel or liquefied petroleum gas used for home heating, by attaching documents confirming the transaction.

From October 1, 2022, residents can apply for part of the additional support measures for households in the upcoming winter season included in the Law on Measures to Reduce the Extreme Increase in Energy Prices on the portal www.epakalpojumi.lv or in person at the municipality.
The state, using the service provided by local governments, compensates for an extreme increase in the prices of energy resources, i.e. each of the types of energy resources has a certain price, starting from which the compensation is calculated. Also, the amount of compensable energy resources for one household has been determined.
If electricity is used for heating in the household, consumption exceeding 500 kWh/month is compensated and 50% of the price of electricity exceeding 0.160 EUR/kWh without VAT is compensated, while support does not exceed 2000 kWh and 0.100 EUR/kWh. Municipalities will start accepting electricity support applications from November 1 of this year.

Several integrated e-services are available on the portal www.epakalpojumi.lv, which collect data from Latvian municipalities, state institutions and commercial companies. SIA “ZZ Dats” has developed a unified e-services portal www.epakalpojumi.lv, where various levels of e-services are provided in cooperation with Latvian municipalities.
At www.epakalpojumi.lv it is possible to apply to receive real estate tax payment notifications by e-mail and make a real estate tax payment, register a child for admission to a municipal pre-school educational institution and follow the common register, request a civil status certificate and request other municipal e-services.
