Warner Music Group is getting serious about tracking down leaked music. The label has posted a job offering for an internet savvy individual to track down leaks as they happen.

The job title is ‘Coordinator, Anti-Piracy/Content Protection,’ with Warner looking for someone who is familiar with the depths of the internet. “We’re looking for someone who thrives on searching the depths of the internet to find when and where unreleased music first pops up,” the job listing reads. “We want someone to help our artists maintain control of their release plans. This person will be the next piece in building a world-class anti-piracy unit.”

Warner expects said person to monitor and protect all forms of Warner Music Group’s intellectual property, including audio, physical products, merchandise, and virtual properties. They will work with label partners on priority release schedules and coordinate these priority releases on a weekly basis with third-party anti-piracy services. Said person will also receive and create leak alerts for infringing uploads to services and “discover new platforms that infringe on WMG’s intellectual property.”

The perfect candidate for the role has experience with both Google Products (Sheets, Docs, Slides & Forms) and Microsoft Office Services (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Sharepoint) and can think quickly and work well independently. WMG is seeking someone with at least one year of experience with digital content management, anti-piracy, or copyright matters and a college degree is preferred, but not required.

WMG says the role is a hybrid one, with the applicant expected to be in the office for four days a week. Interested in applying for the role? You can find more information about the position here.

WMG serves as the home to 10K Projects, 300 Elektra, Asylum, Atlantic, East West, FFRR, Fueled by Ramen, Nonesuch, Parlophone, Rhino, Roadrunner, Sire, Warner Records, Warner Classics, and several other of the world’s premier recording labels. So how do music leaks happen? Several ways.

It’s not impossible that sound engineers at recording sessions drop a file in their personal drive to release later. Warner is seeking someone to help them track leaks like this—isolating them before they become widespread and hit known UGC services like SoundCloud and YouTube.
