will.i.am Teases Britney Spears Collaboration ‘Mind Your Business’

will.i.am x Britney’s pre-save notification on June 18th.

Britney Spears has teamed up with will.i.am for a new collaboration teased “Mind Your Business.”

The pop star is no stranger to working with the producer. Will executive produced her 2013 album, Britney Jean, and featured on the song “It Should Be Easy.” He also featured on her song “Big Fat Bass” on the 2011 album Femme Fatale. The collab seems to be a tie-in to the memoir Spears wrote about her life, which is dropping in October.

will.i.am shared a short video on Instagram of the new collaboration. It begins with vocals from “Scream & Shout,” their 2012 collaboration. The voice over teases, “You are now rocking with Will.I.Am and…” with Britney dropping her famous “Britney, bitch” tagline. “Mind your business, bitch!” the singer continues in the brief clip.

Speculation online suggests the new work could be called “Mind Your Business,” but that has not been confirmed officially. It’s also not clear if this is a single release or if the duo will be dropping an entire album together. Britney Spears briefly teamed up with Elton John last year for the single “Hold Me Closer,” so this will be the first musical release from the pop star since her release from her conservatorship.

Spears discusses her thoughts on that arrangement “for the first time” in her upcoming memoir. A fierce bidding war among multiple publishing houses ensued, with Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, acquiring rights to the book. “I just want my life back,” Spears told the court in 2021 during a hearing.

“Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery,” Gallery Books SVP Jennifer Bergstrom says of the memoir. “I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last.”
