Lizzo, Harry Styles, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Adele…the 2023 Grammy Awards are bringing the star power and then some. With Beyonce’s nominations this year, she became the first female solo artist to surpass 80 nominations. Her new album, Renaissance, is up for album of the year and best dance/electronic music album, and she’s in the running for record of the year and song of the year, both for “Break My Soul.”
Following Beyonce’s nine overall nominations are Kendrick Lamar with eight, Adele and Brandi Carlile with seven, and Mary J. Blige, DJ Khaled, Future, Terius “The-Dream” Gesteelde-Diamant, Randy Merrill, and Harry Styles all tied at six. We’ll be covering it all from the red carpet fashion to the performances to the history-breaking moments.
On the scripted front, You returns with the first part of season four on Netflix this Thursday. Joe (Penn Badgley) reinvents himself as Jonathan Moore, a literature professor living London. We’ll meet new characters (The White Lotus‘ Lukas Gage, among others), and see returning faces. For more on what to expect, see below.
Over at ABC, Gina Rodriguez is back on network television for the first time since Jane the Virgin, with the comedy, Not Dead Yet, also starring New Girl‘s Hannah Simone and Superstore‘s Lauren Ash. I’ll have more with Rodriguez this week, in which she opens up about impending motherhood and why she moved out of Los Angeles.
And then, with Valentine’s Day around the corner, there’s several rom-coms premiering this week, starring everyone from Reese Witherspoon to Alexa PenaVega, and taking place everywhere from New York to Paris. Bonus: Titanic is re-releasing in theaters for its 25th anniversary.
With that, I’ll see you back here next week for the Super Bowl, Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne (actually worth your time), and more.
