Vladimir Klos memorial tournament took place in Latvia

Latvia On March 4, the Vladimir Klos memorial indoor soccer tournament took place at the State Border Guard College in Rēzekne.

The whole life of Vladimir Klos was closely connected with sports, and in his last years he worked at the State Border Guard College in the field of sports. In his memory, an indoor soccer tournament is being held for the fifth year. Before the tournament, the participants gathered at the grave of Vladimir Klos in the Rezekne Old Believers Cemetery to lay flowers and remember Vladimir with a moment of silence.
The tournament was opened by the director of the State Border Guard College, Colonel Mariks Petrushins, dedicating words of appreciation to Vladimir Klos, who carried out extensive sports popularization work in the State Border Guard, ensuring the organization of sports events and the preparation of teams for starts in various competitions, in which many prize-winning places were won and many championship titles were won.

Six teams participated in the tournament: “IGGI UNITED Rēzekne”, “State Police”, “State Fire and Rescue Service”, “State Border Guard”, “Rēzekne Children and Youth Sports School” and “Rēzekne Football Academy”.

In the tournament, the “IGGI UNITED Rēzekne” team won the 1st place, the “State Fire and Rescue Service” team won the 2nd place, and the “State Police” team won the 3rd place. On the other hand, the “National Border Guard” team was in 4th place, the “Rēzekne Football Academy” team was in 5th place and the “Rēzekne Children’s – Youth Sports School” team was in 6th place.

Jurijs Halimons (National Border Guard), best goalkeeper – Alen Sprukts (IGGI UNITED Rēzekne), best defender – Rolands Putāns (National Fire and Rescue Service) and best striker – Eriks Krušanov (National Police) were recognized as the most productive player of the tournament.
