In Riga, the “Association of Health Centers” opens a magnetic resonance cabinet in the shopping center “Saga”

Creating an opportunity to receive a modern magnetic resonance examination closer and more accessible to Latvian residents, the Association of Health Centers (VCA) has opened a Magnetic Resonance (MR) diagnostic office in the shopping center “Sāga” in Riga, Biķeru Street 4.

“The opening of this office is an important step in the development of the VCA Radiology Service, because with it we fulfill our promise to patients to constantly improve the quality of our services and customer experience, investing in top-level technologies and being close to the residents. To be accessible, to be easily accessible with the most necessary services to the residents of Riga and the whole of Latvia – is the main goal of our company’s activity. Magnetic resonance examinations are necessary and in great demand, therefore opening such a modernly equipped diagnostic office outside a medical institution is a new concept, the realization of which we have been preparing for a long time and we hope that it will be a significant investment in promoting the availability of outpatient health services. The first week of operation in the test mode already confirms this, as we observe intense interest in the possibilities of signing up for the services of the new diagnostic cabinet,” describes the opening of the magnetic resonance examination cabinet, Stella Lapiņa, chairperson of the VCA board.

“We – specialists in the VCA Radiology Service – really feel the opening of the new Magnetic Resonance cabinet as a step closer to our patients – closer to their usual environment, daily activities, going outside the strict premises of the medical institution. We open every new service with this awareness. The offer of this examination is characterized by professional staff and equipment equipped with high-end technologies. Our new equipment is equipped with innovations that allow you to capture and read images of excellent quality, distinguish the structures and nuances of organs, and view images from different angles. Thus, the device provides even more versatile and accurate information about the patient’s health status. Various novelties of information technologies and physical parameters, as well as artificial intelligence, are used in the operation of the equipment. For example, the machine helps to position the patient faster, so the examination takes less time. During the examination, the system monitors image quality, reduces image distortions that may occur due to patient movements. The wide tunnel design allows the patient to feel more free and safe, reducing the patient’s claustrophobic feelings. The device is also quieter,” says Ivo Ivaskis, head of the VCA Radiology Service, describing the new options for patients.

Magnetic resonance as a health-safe informative first examination method is chosen in many fields, such as traumatology, orthopedics, oncology and others. In the new MR diagnostic room, examinations of the head, spine, joints, blood vessels, organs of the abdomen and small pelvis are performed with and without administration of a contrast agent. Without the use of X-rays (radiation), the GE SignaVoyager magnetic resonance equipment provides patients with excellent image quality, a painless examination and the opportunity to obtain an accurate health diagnosis.
