Comedian and former Daily Show host Trevor Noah will emcee the Grammys for the fourth year in a row — but the first in which he’s also a nominee.

Trevor Noah, comedian and former host of “The Daily Show,” will host the 66th Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 4, 2024. The 40-year-old will not only be hosting the ceremony for the fourth year in a row, but he’s also a nominee, with his stand-up release, “I Wish You Would,” nominated for Best Comedy Album.

Should Noah take home the prize for which he is nominated, he will become only the second artist to win an award and host the ceremony on the same night. Kenny Rogers, who hosted the 1980 Grammy Awards, also took home the prize that night for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male, for “The Gambler.”

“I’m hosting the Grammys. I’m excited about that, yeah,” said Noah on his podcast on Thursday. “It’s a lot of fun. I enjoy the Grammys because I get to watch the show in person and then experience and comment on it in person while it’s happening.”

While this will be the first year that Noah is nominated for a Grammy while also hosting, it’s not his first Grammy nod overall. He was nominated for Best Comedy Album in 2020 for his release, “Son of Patricia.”

It’s proving to be a big year for Noah, and a big year-end to boot. The Grammy announcement comes just after the news of his latest comedy special on Netflix, “Where Was I,” debuting next week on December 19.

In November, the Recording Academy revealed the nominees for the 66th edition of the ceremony, with lead nominees including SZA with nine, Phoebe Bridgers with seven, Victoria Monét with six, and producer Serban Ghenea with six. Three new categories have also been announced for 2024: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording.
