Things You May Miss When ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Update 2.0 Hits

I am doing my best to focus on Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.0 rather than Phantom Liberty itself, which I cannot talk about until the 20th. But honestly 2.0, which drops September 21, is a huge part of Phantom Liberty, so I want to continue to talk about it now that I can.

While there are long lists about what exactly is coming with the Cyberpunk 2.0 update, I think some of the finer details are going to be missed here, as there’s a lot I’ve discovered when I’ve played that isn’t listed. These aren’t spoilers, just small things that add up to big overall experience changes.

You Can Reset Your Attribute Points Once – Previously this was impossible but now it’s kind of necessary for CDPR to offer this option given how much some of the attribute trees have change. I did this on 2 of my 3 characters, both times removing points from the “Cool” column which used to give you combat bonuses on every build. Now it’s mainly for pistol/throwing blade/stealth stuff.

Respecing Stat Points Is Free – You are not locked into anything anymore when it used to be a huge cost to reset your stat points you sink into perks. You can undo them individually, as I’ve done when you realized a perk you’ve bought is maybe not that useful as you play, and you want to do another one.

You Get Ten More Levels – This is enough to almost max a fourth attribute tree, but not quite. I think you get to level 18, so you can’t do the capstone. But it’s also ten more perk points, and addition to a handful of otehr perk points you get from leveling certain playstyles.

Tier 1-5 Components – These are used to upgrade various rarities of gear as you play. If you’re starting as an endgame V, you are only wanting Tier 5 as those are used to upgrade weapons to higher damage levels and also Cyberware to higher stat levels, which is a new feature of this season. You can find these components in the wild, but the most common wait to get them is to dismantle items of that rarity, which can be clothes or weapons. So don’t sell those most of the time, dismantle them.

You Can Find Cyberware Capacity Shards – You will find a number of shards on dead enemies that will give you XP for various playstyles, but there are also Cyberware Capacity shards that increase your total Cyberware slot total, as you can no longer slot everything everywhere without eventually hitting a cap for too much stuff, or stuff that’s too powerful, and therefor costs more to equip. For example, a piece of Cyberware that gives you 12% more armor for 8 power has an “Iconic” version that costs a ton of money and takes 30 power instead, but it gives you 35% more armor. You will get some more Cyberware capacity as you level, but the main way is to loot these shards from dead enemies. There are Carrying Capacity shards too, thank god.

There Are Containers Full Of Tons of Clothes – While yes, you can buy new clothes from Phantom Liberty vendors, there are also loads of containers of clothes strewn around both Dogtown and the larger map. You can easily get dozens and dozens of looks this way, and remember, you don’t have to keep them. Clothes no longer have armor, so you can dismantle them and they will still show up in your transmog screen.

You Can Change Your Entire Appearance Now – While doing this partially a long time ago, CDPR has now reached the stage where Ripperdocs can recustomize your entire character, which includes things like scars and tattoos now. So if you want a new look, it’s easy now.

That’s some early tips for now, I’ll probably repeat some of these later on.
