It is no secret that the popularity of artificial intelligence in the world is growing every day. Already, more than 83% of companies use or plan to link their operations with it, and by 2027, according to Forbes, the AI market will reach around 407 billion dollars.
Recently in Latvia, the local company “Gradiola Media” created the musician “HugoAI”, which was completely developed by artificial intelligence, portal balticevents.info informs. MI was given the task of coming up with the “product” and absolutely every aspect related to it: from the concept, title and strategy to the finished music and visual design.
As reported by the developers, “HugoAI” is a synthesis of three popular genres: pop with elements of funk, electronic dance music and synthwave. According to the results of the analysis, the artificial intelligence chose a solo project with a male performer, combining an international name and a direct reference to AI in its title. The strategy developed in the future envisages concerts in which live musicians will play.
– What previously sound producers did for many weeks and for a lot of money, AI creates for free, generating the desired song in a minute. The quality of the finished music is no different from the latest hits played on the radio. However, in order to find your own sound and suitable “prompts”, you have to spend weeks and months in the studio, – say the authors of the idea, Guntars Jaudzems and Pavels Starostins.
On July 23, “HugoAI” released its debut album in Latvian “Māksla”, which includes 10 songs. Unlike the album in English, an experimental decision was made to “leave a soul” for Latvia: the lyrics were written by living people, Latvian musicians and poets.
As a result of 9 months of work and 2500 iterations, the songs of the album “Māksla” are positive and energetic compositions that are ideal for both radio airwaves and dance floors. At the same time, the lyrics have preserved openness, ambiguity and provocative character with many social and cultural references, reflecting modern society as accurately as possible.
