The Weeknd sold out four shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and broke the record for the most shows by a male artist at the venue.
The Weeknd is bringing his massive After Hours Til Dawn tour to stadiums across America, including four sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles—with another 200,000 fans coming to see him this weekend alone. As a result, The Weeknd has added to his seemingly never-ending list of accomplishments and broken the record for the most shows by a male artist at the venue.
His first show featured a setlist that includes tracks from Hurry Up Tomorrow, such as “The Abyss,” “Cry For Me,” and “São Paulo.” He also performed fan favorites from After Hours and Dawn FM, along with hits from his extensive catalog, like “Starboy,” “Can’t Feel My Face,” “Blinding Lights,” and more.
Like a massive opera, the live production features elements never before seen in The Weeknd’s body of work, taking his showmanship to new heights. Special guests Mike Dean and Playboi Carti open the tour before The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) takes the stage alongside 30 dancers in red cloaks. The stage effects include a towering gold statue, gold ruins, rings of gold across the stage, lasers, flames, and much more.
His show in New York City shattered records with over 163,000 attendees—more than the Governors Ball held the same weekend. The Weeknd also became the Top Grossing Black Male Artist in MetLife Stadium’s history and set the record for highest attendance by an R&B artist at Boston’s Gillette Stadium.
As part of his tour, The Weeknd has partnered with Global Citizen to help drive positive change around the world. One dollar from every ticket sold will be donated to support children from vulnerable communities globally.
