Taylor Swift made history late in 2023 when she released her concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. The movie was a massive box office success, breaking every record when it came to performance features. Now, the star of the blockbuster title has finally shared the announcement so many were waiting for: it’s coming to streaming.
On Wednesday (February 7), Swift took to Instagram to announce that Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will be available to stream very soon. The movie is headed to Disney+, and according to the singer herself, it is slated to arrive on the platform on March 15.
Swift shared a poster for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, only this time, it’s been altered slightly. The image no longer in the vibrant hues that were used to market the film, but rather muted tones, which is in keeping with the visual styling she’s assigned to her forthcoming album. The superstar captioned the upload by saying:
“This week is truly the best kind of chaos. I’m thrilled to let you know I’ve found a streaming home for The Eras Tour Concert Film, and that home will be @disneyplus. For the first time, we’ll be showing the entire concert (including ‘cardigan,’ plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!!) and I’m calling it, huge shock, ‘Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version).’ Available starting March 15, which is actually very 🔜😆🫶”
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour arrived in theaters on October 13, 2023. In its opening weekend, the highly-anticipated movie raked in $92.8 million in its opening weekend alone. That was enough to make it one of the highest-grossing concert films of all time after just a few days. By the time it was finished at the box office, the picture had earned $261.6 million globally.
After Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour left movie theaters, the Grammy winner still wasn’t done making money from the production. The film quickly made its way to download stores, where fans could rent–but not buy–the title. It was offered for the hefty price of just under $20, which is much more than the average rental–and yet die-hard followers of the singer didn’t mind paying it to watch the movie again.
As she prepares to unleash Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour onto the world yet again, Swift is also getting ready to dominate the charts once more. During this past Sunday’s Grammy Awards, the singer walked away with two more trophies, Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year, both for Midnights. During her first acceptance speech, she announced her next full-length, The Tortured Poets Department, will arrive on April 19.
