LATVIA — Following the decisions made by the State Medicines Agency (ZVA), the government today, on February 21, supported the payment of compensation to several citizens in connection with severe and moderate health damage caused by the side effects of the vaccine against Covid-19 infection.
In January, the ZVA considered the received submissions and supported the payment of compensation to several patients – two will be paid compensation in the amount of 10,000 euros each, and two will be paid compensation in the amount of 5,000 euros each. Thus, the total compensation costs amount to 30,000 euros. Since the so-called technical budget is currently in effect, compensations will be paid from the ZVA budget.
It has already been reported that the residents’ submissions are evaluated by the ZVA, which also decides on the determination of severe or moderate damage to health or life, determination of the amount of compensation, allocation and payment in connection with severe or moderate damage to health caused by side effects of the vaccine against Covid-19 infection. Including the decision made by the government today, ZVA has made a total of 8 decisions on the payment of compensation to residents.
