Ron Johnson says ‘radical leftism has infiltrated’ U.S. institutions

Sen. Ron Johnson said the Colorado Supreme Court ruling that former President Donald Trump cannot be on the state’s primary ballot shows that “radical leftism has infiltrated” every American institution.

“Well, radical leftism has infiltrated every institution in this country, our courts, our education system, government agencies. It’s a real problem,” Mr. Johnson, Wisconsin Republican, said on the Fox News’ program “Sunday Morning Futures.”

A Colorado Supreme Court ruled in a 4-3 decision Tuesday that the former president engaged in an insurrection with his behavior after the 2020 election and is therefore disqualified from holding the presidency under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. The justices removed his name from the state’s March 5 GOP primary ballot.

While applauded in some quarters, the decision was widely criticized across the political spectrum, including by liberal Democrats, never-Trump Republicans and Mr. Trump’s Republican and independent primary opponents. Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung has said the campaign will appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Unsurprisingly, the all-Democrat appointed Colorado Supreme Court has ruled against President Trump, supporting a Soros-funded, left-wing group’s scheme to interfere in an election on behalf of Crooked Joe Biden by removing President Trump’s name from the ballot and eliminating the rights of Colorado voters to vote for the candidate of their choice,” Mr. Cheung said.
