In Riga, until the end of the week, light installations can be seen in the neighborhoods of the city

Until January 9, residents of Riga and guests of the city have the opportunity to see the light installations in the neighborhoods of the city. On the other hand, the city parks lit up in the festive mood will delight the residents throughout January.

Light installations created for the “Staro Rīga” festival are on display until January 9, and have delighted the townspeople since the week of the national holiday. Every evening from From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the illuminated Mežaparks Grand Stage is available to visitors. On the other hand, the other light installations are illuminated from 17.00 to 22.00. The environmental object “Black Star” can be viewed in Viesturdarzma, the walking route “Laika aderes telpa” awaits visitors in the park of Culture Palace “Ziemeļblāzma”. In addition, in the Mārupīte park of the Bieriņi neighborhood, the light stones “Levitation – meditation” can be seen. This week, the “Spilve” building of the airport was also lit up, which together with several groups of light installations, starting from the entrance alley, forms a single ensemble of light images. Until the end of the week, a blizzard of light snowflakes will delight visitors on Dome Square.

The organizers invite residents, when viewing the light installations, not to crowd, to keep distance, to use protective face masks and to disperse in case of large gatherings. The flow of people near the objects is still controlled by security, and in case of epidemiological risks, light objects can be turned off.

During the dark time of the year, going on daily walks or walks, residents of Riga will enjoy 10 illuminated Riga parks both in the center and in the outskirts of the city – Imanta, Ziepniekkaln, Pļavnieki, Sarkandaugava and Pārdaugava – until the end of January.

Strings of Edison bulbs and light environmental objects light up the path of lovers of walking and active recreation in Independence Square, Vērmanes Garden and Viesturdārz in the center of Riga, Anniņmuiža Park in Imanta, Ēbelmuiža Park in Ziepniekalnė, Birzu Birze in Pļavnieki, Kalna Park in Sarkandaugava, as well as Youth Garden, Uzvaras Park and in Arkadia Park in Pārdaugava.
