A severed human leg was found around a body of water in Warnimont Park in Cudahy, Wisconsin, earlier this week. Law enforcement said Friday that a person of interest is in custody.

The park is located along Lake Michigan.

The leg was found at the park at around 5:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook.

The person of interest, unnamed by authorities, was brought in for questioning Thursday after a search warrant was obtained.

The leg is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

No charges against anyone have been publicly announced yet. The person to whom the leg belonged has also not been publicly disclosed.

The sheriff’s office asks anyone with credible information to call 414-278-4788.
