Nikki Haley says House Republicans ‘need to get it together’ over speakership turmoil

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley dinged House Republicans Sunday over their inability to coalesce and elect a new speaker.

“They need to get it together. They need to get in a room and figure out who this is going to be and come out unified,” Ms. Haley said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “That’s what Republicans need to do. This is not a good look. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan of Ohio has emerged as the latest leading candidate after House Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana was forced to drop out due to a lack of support in the conference.

Ms. Haley began to blame President Biden for the disarray among House Republicans before anchor Jake Tapper cut her off.

“You have to let me finish,” she responded. “We have seen chaos with inflation. We’ve seen chaos with the lack of transparency in education. We’ve seen chaos on the border. We’ve seen chaos with crime on the streets, and now we’re seeing chaos around the world.”

“What I’m saying is, you can’t fix Democrat chaos with Republican chaos,” Ms. Haley said.
