Some 1.73 million new sedans, crossovers, SUVs and multi-purpose vehicles were delivered industrywide last month, the China Automobile Dealers Association said.
Retail sales of new passenger vehicles across China dropped 5 percent in July, according to the China Automobile Dealers Association’s preliminary tally.
Some 1.73 million new sedans, crossovers, SUVs and multi-purpose vehicles were delivered industrywide last month, the trade group said on Thursday.
In the first seven months, new-car sales edged up one percent from a year earlier to roughly 11.26 million, according to the CADA’s estimates.
In contrast to the contraction in the overall new-vehicle market, demand for electrified vehicles remained strong in July.
Retail sales of full electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids jumped 33 percent to about 647,000 during the month, with year-to-date volume spiking 37 percent to exceed 3.73 million, the CADA estimated.
