Music Story announces a partnership with ine Music to improve the quality of the Japanese music streaming service’s metadata technology.

Music metadata leader Music Story has announced a partnership with Japanese subscription-based music streaming service, Line Music, enabling the latter to improve their platform’s customer experience with the former’s metadata technology.

The partnership will provide Line Music with the technology to improve the quality of its music metadata over its broad, Japan-centric footprint. Music Story combines automated processing, including AI, to provide Line Music’s users with smoother, redundancy-free navigation through its service while extending the reach and accuracy of its search engine.

“Presenting a rich, localized, precise, and easy-to-explore catalog is a trait that Music Story and Line Music share. Our partnership with Line Music highlights the significant opportunities to solve the data-centric challenges faced by the music industry,” said Jean-Luc Biaulet, CEO of Music Story. “Line Music can now provide an enhanced global product leveraging the use of customized music metadata only available through Music Story.”

Providing both the engineering expertise and essential customized metadata, Music Story aims to deliver an immersive, differentiated music experience. Its music editors and writers work in over 40 countries, creating content in 13 languages. The company’s business development in Japan is led by Taishi Fukuyama of PRTL, an agency specializing in developing business for music related companies entering the Japanese market.

Line Music is one of Japan’s largest subscription-based music streaming services, combining the existing LINE messaging app with a music subscription service. It enables its users to stream music on demand and share music directly through its messaging platform. Users can also set a song as part of their profile.
