The Mexican football federation has confirmed four friendly games being played in the US during September and October.
Fresh off a Gold Cup title triumph, El Tri are wasting no time in planning for the future with international friendlies being announced for the coming months.
Mexico and Australia will meet on September 9 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Three days later, Mexico takes on Uzbekistan in their first ever meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
In October, El Tri will take on two larger names in the football world. They’ll take on Ghana on October 14 at a venue that hasn’t been confirmed yet, and on October 17 they square off against Germany at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Two of the stadiums Mexico will be playing at – Mercedes-Benz and Lincoln Financial – will be venues used at the 2026 World Cup that is co-hosted by USA, Canada, and Mexico.
In the buildup to those games, it will be interesting to see who Mexico chooses as their next permanent head coach after Jaime ‘Jimmy’ Lozano impressed during their Gold Cup triumph.
