Promptly responding to changes in the dairy industry and supporting Latvian producers and residents, “Maxima Latvija” is launching the initiative “Latvijas pienam būs BŪT!”, which, in cooperation with Latvia’s largest dairy product producers, foresees a significant reduction in the prices of dairy products produced in Latvia in “Maxima Latvija” stores from 7 February. Prices will be reduced for almost 200 of the most important daily dairy products – milk, cream, cottage cheese, butter, kefir, cheese, yogurt, etc. produced in Latvia. dairy products. Initiative “Latvian milk will HAVE!” within the framework of the initiative, prices have been reduced for the products of Latvia’s largest milk producers, for example AS “Tukuma piens”, which participates in the initiative with a wider range of products. It will be possible to buy milk products with a reduced price in Maxima stores from Tuesday, February 7, and as part of the initiative, they can be purchased with the “Paldies” card, which is currently available to every buyer for 0.01 euros.
At the same time, supporting Latvian producers, “Maxima Latvija” will also implement a series of activities to highlight and popularize dairy products produced in Latvia.
“Every day we cooperate with almost 500 Latvian partners, offering almost 10,000 local products in various product categories. Successful cooperation with Latvian producers is one of the most important priorities of “Maxima Latvija”. We are aware that this is a challenging time for the Latvian dairy industry. Therefore, in order to support Latvian producers and provide the population with dairy products at the lowest possible prices, we took prompt action and, together with our long-standing partners, are launching the initiative “Latvijas pienam būs BŪT!” to jointly seek a solution to the current situation in the industry. The aim of our initiative is to provide support to domestic producers, promote the increase in demand for dairy products produced in Latvia, as well as reduce food inflation in general and make valuable and high-quality dairy products popular in the diet of the Latvian population more accessible to everyone,” emphasizes the director of the category management and procurement department of “Maxima Latvija” Edwin Lakstiegala.
“Maxima Latvija” will continue to closely follow the development of the situation in order to find the most optimal solutions to the challenges in cooperation with the suppliers of milk produced in Latvia. Currently, in Maxima stores, dairy products of Latvian producers make up a significant part of the entire assortment of this category.
