Manchester United are back in action at Old Trafford on Saturday as they welcome Burnley to the Theatre of Dreams.
With the Premier League unlikely to secure five Champions League spots for next season, United are poised for a campaign away from Europe’s premier club competition in 2024/25. Fourth-place Aston Villa currently sit 13 points clear of Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils having played a game more.
United were victorious in midweek against the soon-to-be-relegated Sheffield United, but they did try their best to endure a rather humiliating night. The Blades took two leads on Wednesday before United rallied in the second half to win 4-2.
Burnley boast greater hopes of survival than Sheffield United, and they have little reason to fear a trip to Manchester. The Clarets have lost just one of their previous five games, but their inability to turn recent draws into wins could prove decisive. Still, Vincent Kompany’s side are just three points adrift of safety with four games to play.
Here’s 90min’s preview of Saturday’s Premier League clash.

Mason Mount could return to the matchday squad having recovered from an ankle injury. The English midfielder won’t be included in the starting lineup, however.
Marcus Rashford missed Wednesday’s win with an ankle injury and is unlikely to feature this weekend.
Ten Hag is still without a whole host of defenders. Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof, Willy Kambwala, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Lisandro Martinez are all poised to miss out again on Saturday.
Man Utd predicted lineup vs Burnley (4-2-3-1): Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Maguire, Dalot; Mainoo, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund.
Kompany should be able to call upon Lyle Foster on Saturday after the striker recovered from a knock he picked up during last week’s victory at Sheffield United.
Luca Koleosho remains out with a knee injury, while Burnley are also without Aaron Ramsey, Ameen Al Dakhil, Jordan Beyer, and Nathan Redmond.
Burnley predicted lineup vs Man Utd (4-4-2): Muric; Assignon, O’Shea, Esteve, Taylor; Vitinho, Berge, Cullen, Odobert; Bruun Larsen, Foster.
Chaos is always around the corner when Manchester United are involved, and another goal-fest at Old Trafford is not out of the realms of possibility.
Burnley have finally found a groove of some semblance to their Championship-winning campaign last season, but their upsurge may well have come a couple of weeks too late. Still, the Clarets are confident and beginning to purr, and they should create high-quality chances against the sieve that is Man Utd’s out-of-possession structure.
Goals will be flying in at both ends, though United must be backed to earn another home victory.
