Convicted pedophile and Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins is reportedly in critical condition after three inmates ‘took him hostage’ and violently attacked him.

Lostprophets frontman and convicted sex offender Ian Watkins is in “life-threatening condition” after the disgraced singer was attacked by three fellow inmates at HMP Wakefield, where he has been serving a 29-year sentence for multiple sex crimes, including pedophilia offenses against young children and babies.

The 46-year-old former singer was reportedly taken hostage by three other inmates shortly after 9 AM on Saturday. He was discovered and freed by prison officers around six hours later, having suffered stab wounds and beatings. Witnesses said that paramedics worked to save Watkins’ life in an ambulance outside the prison on the way to the hospital.

“Police are investigating an incident which took place on Saturday at HMP Wakefield,” reports a Prison Service spokesperson. “We are unable to comment further while the police investigate.”

“He was found by officers after being held hostage and battered on Saturday morning,” said a source. “He’s in a life-threatening condition, and there are fears he could die. If he survives, he’ll have been very lucky.”

Ian Watkins rose to fame as the frontman of the late ’90s rock band Lostprophets until he was revealed to be a predatory pedophile in 2013. Watkins pled guilty to the attempted rape of a baby and more than ten other sex offenses, including two fans offering their infants to be abused by the singer.

He also admitted to the rape and assault of a child under the age of 13, conspiring to rape a child, three counts of sexual assault involving children, seven involving creating or possessing indecent images of children, and one of possessing extreme pornographic imagery involving bestiality.

Watkins was later served an additional ten months after authorities discovered a mobile phone in his possession while incarcerated, which he claimed “known murderers” in his bloc gave him and told him to “keep an eye on.”

HMP Wakefield is colloquially called Monster Mansion due to the murderers, rapists, and pedophiles held there, which Watkins described as “the worst of the worst.”
