Jungkook smashes another Spotify record with ‘Seven’ featuring Latto, becoming the first Korean artist to top Spotify’s global charts and making him the first male artist from any country to surpass 15 million first-day streams.
Jungkook of BTS fame continues propelling himself to new heights, making Spotify history again with his solo debut single, “Seven,” featuring Latto, becoming the first song by a Korean solo artist to debut at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart. That also crowns Jungkook the first male artist from any country to surpass 15 million first-day streams on Spotify — second only to Taylor Swift.
Since “Seven” debuted last month, the track has remained at the top of Spotify’s global chart, making Jungkook the first Korean artist to spend 28 consecutive days at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart and the first to top the weekly global chart for four consecutive weeks. “Seven” also rose to No. 25 this week on the UK Official Singles Chart in its fourth straight week.
Additionally, the track has clocked a fourth week at No. 1 on both Billboard’s Global 200 and Global (Excluding US) charts. The song became the first No. 1 on the charts for a solo BTS member, with 111.7 million streams in its fourth week (down 10%) and 4,000 sold (down 68%) worldwide for the week of August 4 – 10.
“Seven” is the second song of 2023 to debut at the top of the Global 200 and spend at least its first four weeks at No. 1, following Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” which clocked its first six weeks on the top of the chart beginning in January.
Jungkook was recently photographed for the Calvin Klein Fall 2023 campaign, along with Blackpink’s Jennie Kim, Kendall Jenner, Kid Cudi, and “Euphoria” star Alexa Demie. Meanwhile, the popstar also has lucrative brand ambassadorships with Calvin Klein for both jeans and undewear.
