Miller’s Girl — Jenna Ortega’s movie released in theaters in January — was supposed to start streaming on Netflix Thursday but didn’t show up on the platform.
Netflix announced in a post on X on April 3 that Miller’s Girl — an R-rated indie film billed as a drama-comedy — was going to start streaming on the platform on April 25. A search for Miller’s Girl on Netflix on Thursday, however, yielded no results.
Ortega fans who remembered the April 3 announcement returned to Netflix’s X post on Thursday seeking answers. One user replied to the announcement tweet, “@netflix don’t see it listed. [Is] this debuting on a different day now?” while another user posted, “So what happened Netflix[?] I just talked to your customer service and they said this isn’t being released w y’all.”
There was no response from Netflix to either of the above posts or any other post asking where Miller’s Girl was.
The April 3 Netflix announcement about Miller’s Girl coming to the platform has attracted quite a bit of attention. As of the publication of this article, the post was viewed more than 871,300 times.
For those wondering why the absence of Miller’s Girl is a big deal, it’s because Ortega’s star has been blazing since the release of Scream in 2022 and Scream VI in 2023. On top of that, the Netflix blockbuster hit series Wednesday — featuring episodes directed by Tim Burton and starring Ortega in the title role — debuted on Netflix in 2022.
According to Deadline, Wednesday had a record-breaking debut week in November of 2022 by amassing more than 341 million viewing hours.
