“It’s a miracle they survived.” “Tesla” flies off a cliff in California with four passengers

A car carrying two adults and two minors plunged off a cliff known as “Devil’s Slide” on Monday morning.

The passengers were in the crashed car for more than an hour before being rescued by helicopter.

The children in the vehicle are aged four and nine and were not injured in the accident. Both adults were initially listed in critical condition, but were later found to have non-life threatening injuries.

A witness told NBC that she saw the Tesla “going really fast” down the highway before going “over the edge and straight down” the cliff.

It is not known if the car was using the autopilot function.

Local fire battalion chief Brian Pottinger told Fox News that it was phenomenal that the occupants of the car survived the 75-meter fall.

“Unfortunately, all too often we have to go to calls where similar incidents have occurred,” he said. “It was a miracle they survived.”
