Independent Artist Group has signed electronic music icon deadmau5 for worldwide representation in all areas.
Independent Artist Group (IAG) has signed global electronic music icon deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman) for worldwide representation in all areas. The agency is focused on expanding his business across music, film, television, digital content, gaming, and technology, as well as creating new opportunities around the artist’s growing portfolio of intellectual property.
One of the most influential artists in electronic music, deadmau5 has spent more than two decades pushing beyond the traditional boundaries of a recording and touring career. An early adopter and innovator across livestreaming, gaming, immersive experiences, and technology, he has built an entertainment ecosystem that increasingly extends into content, software, digital media, and IP ownership.
Central to IAG’s crossover strategy will be identifying film, television, and digital opportunities around deadmau5 and his existing businesses and creative properties. These include the relaunch of his popular Coffee Run digital series; his video game company Oberhasli Games; and Auto/Pilot, his live performance software platform designed for creative mixing, real-time arrangement, sampling, sequencing, and automation.
Coffee Run, which features deadmau5 in candid car rides and conversations with notable guests while grabbing coffee, has previously featured Pharrell Williams, Skrillex, Tommy Lee, Zedd, and Dillon Francis, among others. The series is being relaunched as part of a broader push into original digital content.
“Joel is a once-in-a-generation creative force who represents exactly where we believe the entertainment business is going—the intersection of music, technology, content, and ownership,” said Jim Osborne, Chief Executive Officer, and Kyle Loftus, President, Independent Artists Group.
“He has been ahead of the curve for his entire career, from the way he approaches live production and streaming to gaming, software, and digital experiences. Music will always be at the center of what he does, but the opportunity here goes well beyond music. We look forward to bringing the full resources of IAG to help Joel expand his ideas and intellectual property across film, television, digital, and other platforms while continuing to grow his global music business.”
“IAG’s proven track record of creating exciting crossover content creation and ownership opportunities for musical artists is what attracted me to them,” said deadmau5. “As my business continues to evolve across touring, music, technology, and new ventures, I’m excited to partner with a team that understands our goals and objectives and can help us build what’s next.”
The signing comes during another active period in deadmau5’s career. In 2026, he released “Science,” featuring Stevie Appleton, his first vocal single since “My Heart Has Teeth,” featuring Skylar Grey, which appeared on the Resident Evil soundtrack from the Netflix series. The track reached #1 at U.S. Dance Radio while also charting on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart and Canada’s CHR/Top 40.
In recent years, deadmau5 has also celebrated his career with sold-out “retro5pective: 25 Years of deadmau5” performances at the Hollywood Bowl, Brooklyn Mirage, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, while continuing to develop new music and live concepts through both deadmau5 and his techno alias TESTPILOT. His annual Day of the Dead performances at Red Rocks remain signature events on the electronic music calendar, with his 2025 shows introducing new music and elements of a new touring production.
The work with longtime friend and collaborator Kaskade led to the creation of Kx5; in 2022, the pair headlined the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in what was reported as the largest single-day concert headlined by an electronic music artist in North America at the time.
His influence on the next generation of electronic artists extends through mau5trap, the label he founded, while his work as TESTPILOT provides another outlet for his longstanding exploration of underground techno. deadmau5 continues to be represented by longtime collaborators, manager Dean Wilson (Circuit Group/Seven20), attorney Dina LaPolt, and Alexandra Greenberg of Falcon Publicity.
