Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been putting in the hard yards over summer in a bid to win his place back after slipping down the pecking order last season.
Maguire was unceremoniously dropped to the bench following back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Brentford at the start of the campaign, never to permanently regain a starting role.
United boss Erik ten Hag favoured new signing Lisandro Martinez alongside Raphael Varane, with Victor Lindelof becoming the more favoured alternative by the end of the season and even Luke Shaw occasionally filling in as a centre-back. It left Maguire fourth or even fifth choice.

There has been interest in the England defender from the likes of West Ham and Newcastle, as well as Tottenham more recently, and Serie A trio AC Milan, Juventus and Inter.
90min previously reported United fears that Maguire refusing to leave could scupper plans to sign Kim Min-jae, who is now on the cusp of joining Bayern Munich for €50m. Maguire is believed to be keen on fighting for a more regular starting place and that seems to be reflected in his summer work.
The 30-year-old has spent close to three weeks training privately in Portugal. He has been pictured with Premier League legend Ricardo Carvalho and is reported to have been working one on one with the former Chelsea and Real Madrid defender, training up to three times a day.
