Harry Styles is the latest artist to be pelted while on stage, struck in the eye during a Vienna concert.

Not sure what exactly compels people to pay hundreds of dollars to throw things at their ‘favorite’ artist, but here we are. This time Harry Styles was struck in the eye while performing on stage in Vienna. He avoided any serious injury and was able to finish his show as scheduled—but this is the second time he’s dealt with someone hurling an object on stage in under a year.

In November 2022, Styles was struck in the eye by a fan throwing a Skittles piece on stage. But he’s not the only artist who has experienced these kinds of attacks while performing, especially in 2023. Bebe Rexha needed stitches after she was hit in the face by a phone. Ava Max was struck in the face by a fan who rushed onto the stage to hug her before being tackled by security.

Following this rash of throwing items and rushing the stage, Adele dared any of her fans to do it. “Have you noticed how people are forgetting fucking show etiquette at the moment?” the pop singer asked her audience during her Vegas residency over the last month. “People just throwing shit on stage, have you seen them? I fucking dare you. Dare you to throw something at me and I’ll fucking kill you,” she said.

Video footage posted on social media appears to show the singer walking on stage as an object hits him square in the eye. He flinches in pain and is bent over while bringing his hands to his head to collect himself before continuing forward. Harry Styles has not directly addressed the incident on social media. Maybe if you love the artist enough to pay hundreds to see them live—don’t throw things? Just a thought.
