Future Bethesda Games Leak Including ‘Oblivion’ Remaster, ‘Dishonored 3’

I am currently on my third story of the morning based on a wild collection of leaks from accidentally released documents in the FTC v. Microsoft

case. So far that has included a look at a new Xbox Series X design, the idea that Microsoft wanted to buy Nintendo as recently as 2020, and now? The complete breakdown of Bethesda’s upcoming releases, barely any of which have been publicly announced.

Here’s the list as it stands:

• An Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remaster, originally listed for fiscal year 2022, but has obviously been pushed back.
• Doom Year Zero in fiscal year 2023, with DLC for it coming in fiscal year 2024.
• A Fallout 3 remaster in fiscal year 2024
• Ghostwire: Tokyo 2 in fiscal year 2024
• Dishonored 3 in fiscal year 2024

Also listed are the upcoming Indiana Jones game, which we know about, but still does not have a firm date. There are also codenamed projects, Project Kestral, Project Platinum and an unnamed “licensed IP game.”

While these timelines, as of 2022, have probably mostly shifted, the reveal of upcoming projects like Oblivion and Fallout 3 remasters and Dishonored 3 are a big deal. Everyone was wondering what might happen with Arkane after the failure of Redfall, and many are likely heading to Dishonored 3 instead. Of course, this was planned before Redfall bombed earlier this year.

Elder Scrolls VI is also on here, of course, but under the Fiscal Year 2024 section, which we now know is simply not even close to possible. We just got word that early development started on the game now that Starfield launched (again, late, according to this doc), and other leaks have suggested it will not arrive until 2026 or later (and not be released on PlayStation).

I have to say this seems…a touch barren for Bethesda in the wake of Starfield, given that many of these projects are very likely to have been pushed far back out of these listed timeframes by now. I think they’re banking on Starfield to be a Skyrim-like release with long-term success, which it may be, but it’s too early to tell. They are relying on remasters of some of their other classics now that Skyrim has been re-released a million times.

The three unnamed projects could be interesting, though the fact that they are codenames imply they’ll be even later, most likely, than the named ones. The upcoming Indiana Jones game seems like a wildcard. As for the other “licensed IP game,” if Bethesda got Indy, I wonder if they might be doing a Star Wars.

Again, we will see if Bethesda has anything to say on this, even if it’s just “this is very out of date and plans are always shifting.” But some of these games are no doubt definitely going to happen, now it’s just a matter of when.
