Minnesota United have loaned out full-back Ethan Bristow to EFL League Two side Stockport County.
The move will see the 22-year-old return to his native England through the 2024 MLS season. Bristow originally joined the Loons in July and has made 12 appearances across competitions for the Western Conference side.
The young defender signed for Minnesota when former head coach Adrian Heath was still at the helm with the two holding an English connection. Prior to joining Minnesota, Bristow featured for Tranmere Rovers in League Two in 2022/23 and came through the Reading academy to make 11 appearances for the first team from September 2020 – June 2022 in the EFL Championship.
Minnesota finished the 2023 MLS season in 11th place in the Western Conference with 41 points, as they relieved Heath of his duties and appointed Sean McAuley with two games reminaing in the regular season. The Loons announced earlier this month that McAuley would remain as interim boss for the 2024 campaign.
Stockport currently sit in first place in the League Two table with 50 points from 24 games played, as Bristow will provide the league leaders with depth as their season wears on in their bid to gain promotion to League One.
