Erik ten Hag has revealed he is still awaiting formal diagnoses on the injuries suffered by Marcus Rashford and Antony during the friendly victory over Real Betis.
Rashford impressed during his hour on the pitch before a tough challenge sent him limping back down the tunnel, while substitute Antony managed around 20 minutes before being forced off the field.
Ahead of the clash with Liverpool in the early hours of Sunday morning, Ten Hag confessed no risks will be taken with either player.
“We have to wait,” he stressed. “Of course, we don’t take risks in the last game of the tour going into the season next week already. We go into an important game and we are still 24 hours after a game.
“The final assessment we have to make and we will see if they are ready for the game against Liverpool on Saturday.”
Injuries to both Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund have left Ten Hag short on numbers this summer, but the boss revealed two first-team stars are on the cusp of making their returns to training.
“We have a plan for every individual when they have to show up,” Ten Hag explained.
“The plan is now running. Alejandro Garnacho is returning [on Friday] to start training. Licha [Lisandro Martinez] will start on Monday. There is a plan for every player.”
United face Liverpool on Sunday before switching their attention to the Community Shield against rivals Manchester City on August 10.
