Elton John announces five new TikTok filters to celebrate his iconic career with all 2.4 million of his followers.

He may have said farewell and goodbye to the Yellow Brick Road, but Elton John has collaborated with TikTok to launch five new filters to celebrate every era of his illustrious career. Boasting over 2.4 million followers on TikTok, Elton’s influence in music and its fandom continues with fun AR filters to allow users to recreate some of his most memorable looks.

The filters enable the TikTok community to replicate Elton John’s iconic sunglasses and flamboyant stage outfits, from the shimmering sequins of the “Rocket Man” era, the lime green Hollywood Walk of Fame suit of the ‘70s and sequined Dodgers cap, to the gold-rimmed glasses from his Farewell Tour. Elton announced the filters’ launch on TikTok, going through each one in a video that has amassed over 32k likes from fans.

“All that glitters is gold,” Elton said as he concluded his video. “Hope you enjoy, and I can’t wait to see you in these Rocket Man looks.”

Last year, the legendary singer teased his collaboration with Britney Spears, “Hold Me Closer,” exclusively on TikTok, leading to 108,700 video creations featuring the track. In recent months, “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” has been trending on the platform as the community uses the song to celebrate Elton’s career; the song has racked up over 130 million views on TikTok.

His Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour spanned five years, covering five decades of Elton’s music and performances across 330 shows worldwide. The tour kicked off in Pennsylvania in September 2018 and wrapped up in Stockholm, Sweden, in July 2023. The star performed what would become one of the most-watched Pyramid Stage performances of all time at Glastonbury Festival, with 120,000 fans on-site and another 7 million who watched the stream.
