SAIC-GM, General Motors’ joint venture with SAIC Motor Corp., delivered 10,017 electrified vehicles under the Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac brands in July, a 138 percent surge from a year earlier.

Buick represented 8,692 units, or 87 percent, of all of its EV deliveries last month, SAIC-GM said on Tuesday.

Buick derived much of that volume from its first two Ultium platform-based EVs.

July deliveries of the Buick Electra E5 crossover, on sale in April, reached 3,722. The Buick Electra E4 generated sales of 1,762 after hitting the market June 19.

SAIC-GM didn’t disclose sales of its other electrified models.

In addition to the Electra E5 and E4, Buick sells the Velite 6 sedan in EV and plug-in hybrid versions.

Chevrolet and Cadillac each have an EV crossover in their product lines: the Menlo crossover and the Lyriq crossover, the first Ultium product GM introduced to China.

It will roll out more than 25 new and refreshed models in China in 2023, of which more than one third will be electrified products, GM’s China unit said in January.

The new electrified products include the first Ultium model from Chevrolet and the second such product from Cadillac, according to GM China’s product plans for 2023.
