On two Saturdays – February 11 and March 11, 2023, at At 11:00 a.m., a creative workshop will be held in the “Riga Art Nouveau Center” museum as part of the “Riga Cats” exhibition, which will be led by the artist, author of the exhibition, Anita Paegle. Using pencils and pastel colors, we will learn to sketch and draw these independent and charming creatures – cats.
Inspired by the mood of the exhibition, the “Riga Art Nouveau Center” museum offers to visit the creative workshop led by A. Paegles. Participants of the workshop “Rīgas kaķi” are invited to create a fantasy and tell the story of their cats in colors. The workshop is intended for both children and adults – anyone who wants to enjoy the joy of creation. The participants of the workshop will have access to drawing supplies – paper, pencils and pastels.
The exhibition “Rīga cats” in the museum “Rīga Jugendstila centrs” presents the works of A. Paegle – original illustrations for the book of poems “Cat on the piano” (2021) by Ines Zander, the book “Meow and purr” (2005) by Māra Cielēna, “Fairy coin” created by the artist and the series of stamps created for Latvian Post. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to enjoy the cats captured by the artist in the urban environment of Riga and try to recognize the streets and houses of Riga seen in the drawings.
The exhibition at the “Riga Art Nouveau Center” museum can be viewed until March 26, 2023.
Participation fee in the creative workshop – 10.00 EUR/person. Prior application is required by calling 67181465 or writing to [email protected], or on the FB website. The price includes a visit to the museum.
