Clermont Foot vs PSG

Clermont Foot vs PSG

Ligue 1’s worst side so far this season are going to have their work cut out when they welcome Paris Saint-Germain to town, as Clermont Foot have amassed just a single point all season.

PSG are not enjoying a wonderful start to the season by their own usual standards as they come into the weekend in third place, with OGC Nice and Stade Brest currently boasting a better record after the first six games.

Luis Enrique needs to start delivering more consistent results across the board but with a Champions League match to think about next week, you can bet that they will be trying to squeeze through this one without much fuss or without using the best players too much.

Here is all that you need to know about PSG’s Ligue 1 clash with Clermont Foot.

There are two main players that Clermont Foot are going to be without when they face PSG on Saturday and they are Komnen Andric and Neto Borges. The latter had been a permanent fixture in the team until last week’s match against Le Havre.

Beyond them, Clermont Foot have everyone available which makes their form and place at the bottom of the table even more concerning.

Clermont Foot predicted lineup vs PSG (3-5-2): Diaw; Seidu, Pelmard, Caufriez; Konate, Gonalons, Magnin, Gastien, Allevinha; Nicholson, Cham.

There is a very realistic chance that Kylian Mbappe does not start the clash with Clermont Foot given he limped off last weekend against Marseille and there is an away match in the Champions League against Newcastle to think about.

That would likely see Goncalo Ramos come into the front three from the start. The likes of Sergio Rico, Marco Asensio, Nuno Mendes and Presnel Kimpembe all remain out injured.

PSG predicted lineup vs Clermont Foot (3-4-3): Donnarumma; Marquinhos, Skriniar, Hernandez; Hakimi, Ugarte, Zaire-Emery, Barcola; Dembele, Kolo Muani, Ramos

Given just how bad Clermont Foot have been so far this season, this match can only be predicted as going one way. They have one point from six games and whilst PSG may be rotating things a bit, there is a lot of quality to come into the side.

The dream for Luis Enrique will be to get a couple of goals ahead nice and early in Clermont-Ferrard and then he can start withdrawing some of the more important stars with Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Newcastle in mind.

Prediction: Clermont Foot 0-3 PSG
