Charges against the man arrested at Miami-Dade airport for allegedly being Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ drug mule have been dropped. Brendan Paul completed a pretrial diversion program—resulting in the charges being dismissed.

Brendan Paul was arrested in March at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport after narcotics were discovered in his luggage. Charges for that incident include felony possession of suspected cocaine and possession of suspected marijuana candy. Prosecutors were pursuing the cocaine charge, but as part of a plea deal offered to first time offenders he was offered the pretrial diversion program.

Brendan Paul’s name featured in a civil lawsuit against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs filed by producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones. In that lawsuit, Jones refers to Paul as a ‘drug mule’ for the rapper. The complaint states that Paul was responsible for procuring, transporting, and distributing ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine, marijuana, mushrooms, and other drugs by packing the substance in carry-ons and then going through TSA.

That civil lawsuit also alleges that Paul was required to “carry Combs’ firearm on his person whenever they went out.” It also alleges that Paul was also tasked with procuring sex workers and negotiating their rates and ensuring they were paid by Combs following their services.

The arrest of Brendan Paul happened the same day federal authorities launched raids on Diddy’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami. Combs was later arrested on September 16 on charges of racketeering, and sex trafficking charges. Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY after he was denied bail. Combs will remain at the MDC until his trial begins in May.

“Mr. Paul’s case was formally dismissed today in its entirety,” his lawyer said in a statement. “All charges have been dropped and the case is closed. Mr. Paul is pleased to close this chapter of his life.”
