For the third nonconsecutive week, Chappell Roan’s debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is forced to settle for second place on the Billboard 200. The project lifts to its all-time peak on the list of the most-consumed full-lengths in the U.S., continuing to prove just how huge it is. This frame, the set’s growth is thanks largely to an improvement in its sales sum, which explodes.
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess was recently released on several new vinyl offerings, and fans of Roan picked up many thousands of copies. All those purchases lead to the title experiencing a massive sales surge, which is impressive, considering the fact that the poppy project has now been out in the world for just over a year.
Billboard reports that in the past tracking week, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess sold another 56,000 copies throughout the country. That’s up 328% from the period before the new vinyl dropped.
All those purchases help Roan’s first full-length hit a new high on one of Billboard’s most important charts. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess steps up to No. 1 on the Top Album Sales ranking, dancing its way to the summit for the first time and giving the singer her debut leader.
50,000 of those 56,000 purchases were on vinyl, which marks a new best week for Roan on the format, according to Billboard. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess rockets back to No. 1 on the company’s Vinyl Albums chart, earning a second frame in charge of the ranking of the top-selling titles on wax in America.
Consumption of The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess was up when looking beyond just sales. The album rises 64% in terms of total listening, and Roan’s massively successful release shifted a total of 105,000 equivalent units, including streaming activity and purchases across formats.
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess has come within one rung of the Billboard 200’s throne on multiple occasions, but each time, she’s been beaten by one exciting new launch or a holdover winner. This time around, Future earns his eleventh No. 1 on the tally with Mixtape Pluto, which launches atop the ranking with 129,000 equivalent units.
