Earlier this summer, over Memorial Day weekend, 14 people were killed and at least another 58 people were injured over the Friday-to-Monday stint, according to the Gun Violence Archive. The year prior, 13 people died and 77 people were injured in mass shootings over Memorial Day weekend.
