Alūksne poultry farm will invest 4 million euros in new equipment

LATVIA – SIA Alūksnes putnu ferma, which is a company of AS APF Holdings (hereinafter – APF) group of companies, has signed an agreement with agricultural equipment manufacturer Big Dutchman and will invest 4 million euros in equipping two new laying hen houses with modern and automated bird keeping equipment. Originally founded in the USA, Big Dutchman is now a German company with almost 100 years of experience in the production of agricultural equipment, specializing in poultry and pig farming.

“The agreement with Big Dutchman is part of our development plan, which we presented during the APF Holding initial public offering last year. We have selected what we believe to be the best and most advanced supplier of egg production equipment in the world, which will allow APF to continue to build a fully sustainable production facility. Of course, modern production equipment also means efficiency, which allows us to reduce costs and improve our production process – this, in turn, will bring tangible benefits to both our shareholders and everyone who has liked the eggs and egg products produced by APF,” says Jurijs Adamovičs, AS Chairman of the Board of APF Holdings.
