Metallica will play two concerts at Mohegan Sun Arena to celebrate the venue’s 25th anniversary, following the band’s Sphere residency.
Metallica has added two concerts at Mohegan Sun Arena to the band’s upcoming tour dates, following their sold-out residency at Sphere in Las Vegas. The shows, scheduled for November 19 and 21, will serve as part of the Uncasville arena’s 25th anniversary celebrations and mark the band’s first performances at the venue. The two dates will also be the group’s only tour dates in the Northeast this year, and their first shows in Connecticut since 1998.
Both nights promise completely different set lists and support acts as part of Metallica’s No Repeat Weekend tradition. Suicidal Tendencies will open for the band on November 19, while November 21 will feature Spiritbox.
Tickets for both concerts go on sale on Friday, April 10, at 10 AM via Ticketmaster, with a two-day package option available for fans attending both nights. Metallica Fan Club members get a pre-sale starting April 8, followed by Live Nation and Mohegan Sun pre-sales on April 9.

Metallica recently announced an already sold-out residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, which begins on October 1 and ends on November 7, before picking up again in January and running through mid-March. Next month, they will play a slew of dates across Europe and the UK.
Mohegan Sun Arena opened in late 2001 and has played host to numerous superstars, including Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Lopez, and Tim McGraw. It’s also a frequent venue for college basketball, WWE, and MMA events; its first event was a pre-season basketball game between the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards.
