LATVIA — 16-17 in March “Youth media conference” and hackathon of content ideas are being held at the Riga Art and Media Technical School in March, portal balticevents.info informs. Participation in the event is absolutely free.
The program includes lectures, discussions, master classes, as well as the opportunity to meet media representatives and learn more about career opportunities in the relevant field. Young people will be inspired by their experiences and lectures by personalities such as Lauris Zalāns, Nansija Garkalne, Inga Spriņė, Gundega Roze, Ieva Ilvesa, Raimonds Platacis, Kārlis Dagilis, Artūrs Yenots and many others.
Young people from all over Latvia are invited to apply for the hackathon, which will run parallel to the “Youth Media Conference” for two days. During the day, the team will have to create an idea for youth media content. At the end of the hackathon, the most successful team will receive the main prize – the technical support of the youth media center “Young Media House” worth 1000 euros for the implementation of the program idea. Ieva Ilvesa, adviser to the President of the Republic of Lithuania on information space and digital policy, TV3 news moderator Ivo Jurkāns and LMT Marketing communications director Normunds Zalpēteris confirmed their participation in the hackathon jury.
“It is a great pleasure that this year our participants will not only be able to come up with a project, but also, thanks to the main prize, to gradually realize it,” says event organizer Ilona Bičevska.
This year, the conference and its addition – a hackathon – will take place in the newly created Media house, Jūrmala gatve 96, of the Riga Art and Media Technical University, where participants will have the opportunity to put the knowledge gained in theory into practice.
To apply for the hackathon, until March 13 at At 13.00 you must fill out the questionnaire on the website www.YoungMediaSharks.eu. 20 young people will be selected for the hackathon based on a motivation letter. On the other hand, it is possible to register for participation in the conference and master classes by filling out the form on the website www.YoungMediaSharks.eu until March 15.
