On December 7, the “Griziņkalns” sports complex will host the “Mad Winter Rail Jam” freeski and snowboard competition, informs the balticevents.info portal.
The competition will take place in several stages throughout the day. They will be “Children’s Skiing”, “Freeski & snb junior”, “Snowboarding for junior women”, “Freeski for junior women”, “Snowboarding for junior men”, “Freeski for junior men”, “Snowboarding for women”, “Freeski for women”, “Snowboarding for men” and “Freeski for men”.
“The competition park will consist of 1 trestle, on which there will be 6 elements of varying complexity. In the qualification, participants will have a 20-minute “jam session”, where everyone will be able to show off and present their skills. The 10 best skiers and snowboarders will compete in the finals. For children, juniors and women, the competition will be held without qualification and there will be only finals. “The judges evaluate the participants on a 100-point scale,” says Einārs Lansmanis, a member of the board of the Latvian Ski Federation.
The best Latvian skiers will participate in the competition, as well as guests from other countries. Admission to the event is absolutely free. More information about the competition and a detailed competition program are available on the Latvian Ski Federation website www.infoski.lv.
