The Weeknd has officially broken his own record as the artist with the most monthly listeners on Spotify, with over 120.5 million. The superstar became the first artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners in February 2023, and has held the top spot ever since, aside from a recent one-month period. Taylor Swift recently joined him as the only other artist with over 100 million monthly listeners, though Billie Eilish is catching up.

This feat comes following the Weeknd’s latest music video for “Timeless” with Playboi Carti, produced by Pharrell. Also recently released is the fan hit “Dancing in the Flames,” from his heavily anticipated album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, available on vinyl and CD.

“Timeless” debuted at #3 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 and was also the most-streamed song. It’s the highest first-week chart position in the Weeknd’s career, as well as being his 19th Top 10 single. The song is Carti’s fifth Top 10. The duo premiered the song in Brazil last month, then released it to streaming services on September 27, where it accrued over 10 million streams in only its first day.

Last month, the Weeknd delivered a sold-out stadium live performance from São Paulo, which was streamed exclusively on YouTube. Millions of fans worldwide tuned in to witness the unique concert that showcased his signature sound and electrifying stage presence, along with surprise guests Playboi Carti and Anitta. The performance was the highest trending music set in the US, and trended in 24 other countries, further solidifying his reign as a global icon.

Notably, 10% of net proceeds from all merchandise sales at the event and online to the Brazilian Soul Fund of BrazilFoundation, supporting communities affected by natural disasters and economic hardships in southern Brazil.

Hurry Up Tomorrow serves as the third and final installment in a trilogy that includes the Weeknd’s previous albums, After Hours (2020), and Dawn FM (2022).
