Taylor Swift’s net worth now surpasses that of Rihanna, making her the world’s richest female musician, according to a new estimation from Forbes.

Taylor Swift has surpassed Rihanna as the world’s wealthiest female musician, according to Forbes. The business outlet estimated this week that Swift’s net worth clocks in at a staggering $1.6 billion, which, if true, exceeds that of the previous title-holder, Rihanna, who is reportedly worth $1.4 billion.

The 34-year-old Swift reportedly became a billionaire last year thanks to the incredible earnings from her worldwide Eras Tour and her ever-growing music catalog. Her wealth comes in second among musicians only to Jay-Z, whose net worth stands at $2.5 billion across his numerous business ventures, according to Forbes.

But it’s notable that Jay-Z and Rihanna, while both phenomenally successful in the music world in their own right, have amassed their wealth predominantly by diversifying their business ventures. Swift’s net worth is driven almost solely by music — between royalties, her catalog valuation, and the sheer success of her Eras Tour and other touring efforts.

Swift is getting ready to kick off the final leg of the Eras Tour later this month, but she’s been busy making headlines in the meantime. Her recent high-profile endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential race saw her gain over 1.8 million followers on Spotify in just four days. That puts her total followers at over 122.8 million as of October 7. She is currently second only to Indian superstar Arijit Singh, who has over 123.7 million followers, per Chartmetric’s data.

Tickets to her upcoming Eras shows are now unable to be transferred until three days prior to the corresponding event, due to a change implemented by Ticketmaster in what is presumed to be an effort to curb theft. Numerous fans are finding their tickets inexplicably transferred to unknown Ticketmaster accounts after the ticketing giant was the subject of a massive data breach earlier this year. While Swift tickets are not the only ones affected, they are common targets for scammers due to their value and high demand.
