Bad Religion Becomes Latest Band to Outright Cancel A Major Tour

Bad Religion is the latest band to announce the full cancellation of their upcoming fall 2024 tour. The band cites an ‘unforeseen family circumstance’ for the cancellation on social media. Here’s the latest.

“We apologize for any disappointment and disruption this may cause,” the band’s statement continues. “For ticket refunds, please visit the point of purchase. A sincere apology to Niis for your willingness and support. Go check them out, they are fantastic!”

Earlier this year, Bad Religion went on a co-headlining tour will fellow SoCal punk band Social Distortion. Both bands played Goldenvoice’s new punk festival No Values, while Social Distortion performed their debut album Mommy’s Little Monster in full for its 40th anniversary. Bad Religion celebrated their 40th anniversary in a 2021 tour that was originally postponed from COVID in 2020. Their latest album is 2019’s Age of Unreason and recently the band has dropped hints that new work is on the way.

Bad Religion formed in 1980 in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Since then, the band has become synonymous with West Coast punk rock and is considered one of the most influential bands in the genre. In 2020, the group released a four-episode streaming event captured at The Roxy Theatre called “Decades,” commemorating the conclusion of 2020 as their 40th anniversary. The band released an autobiography the same year called “Do What You Want: The Story of Bad Religion” which takes a peek at the ups and downs of the band’s 40 year history.
